I would like to apologize to the car owner for all the lack of communications & misunderstanding. We’ve been contacting through e-mails & phone calls as he was from Singapore. He even provided photos of his car to make sure that the body kit I have fits his ride. Without having second thoughts I agreed to do up his ride.
Once he arrived, we went straight away to work on his ride. But as soon as we placed the body kit, the measurement was totally different. We have fixed the rear lips but the front lips could not fit at all as the bumper is different. Then I realized, something’s not right. (Ah!crap) It’s a different Volvo S60. There are two types here, the normal one and the T5 version. How careless I am. Literally was panicked. The client specifically told me that he wants the body kit fit 100% and not to do any custom-made on the ride.
Although the design is exactly the same, but the dimensions are way different. Same goes the front bumper holes are smaller. Of course he complained, his disappointment about the whole idea of fixing the kit with us; travel all the way from Singapore, put up a night here, and just to fix with us; and I screwed it all up. After much discussion with him, we finally came into an agreement. We agreed to go on the custom-made part with a very very discounted price. It turned out we need to do a little custom job to fit everything right. I am really glad it turned out alright.
Overall, I felt really bad for him as he puts his trust on me to take a good care of his ride but I was really careless. I didn’t do much research during our communications beforehand. He was kind enough to let me made up for my mistakes and gave me the opportunity to finish up my job. Great person indeed. He was patient and such an understanding person during the whole process. Therefore, really thankful to have him as a client to our shop.
Lesson learned and do not ever want to make such a mistake again.
